Chesterfield Board of Health receives $18,000 Community Compact Grant

Waste Management Best Practice funding

Funding from the Massachusetts Community Compact was awarded to the Chesterfield Board of Health. Funds will be used to enhance the ReUse aspect of the transfer station's Reduce/Reuse/Recycle commitment.  The grant was submitted to secure funding to put up a Swap Shack shed to promote resident donations and reuse of working household items, clothing, small appliances no longer wanted in a household but which may have use left in them and be of value to other residents.  Additional funds will be spent for improved signs, places for posting and distribution of helpful household waste tips, sharing of information, or other content related to Chesterfield's refuse and recycling. Watch for changes coming to your town transfer station in the next 12 - 24 months.
